TL DR my Logitech G230 headset quality was very poor, which was the sole reason for the static not an issue with OBS. Others say the audio is crisp, just low, so I guess that's a plus. Only the +10db is somewhat tolerable and gives my microphone enough of a boost that I don't have to yell as loud as possible for others to hear. Unacceptable as even at +20db the non-stop static in your ears is crazy. I am currently using a Blue Yeti Pro, and have not encountered any more 'unexplained' static. Microphone only does it in +10db, +20db, +30db settings. quality that was causing the static, not OBS as I had previously though.

As it turned out, it was just the G230's mic. Now I've gotten a new mic., however, and it's doing a lot better. and audio from my video produced separately, but ultimately gave up on that. I attempted to make it so that audio from my mic. because I couldn't be heard at times over the game, which was annoying. It was to a point that I purposely had to increase the gain of my mic. You can clearly hear what I'm talking about. Here's a video I recorded and uploaded of me playing with OBS w/ that mic. It wasn't to the point where I couldn't be heard, it was just there in the background at all times and was curiously annoying. I found it interesting that while I was speaking to people through programs like Discord or Skype they reported little to no background static, yet I still picked up major amounts of static while recording with OBS. The microphone I was using was a Logitech G230's headset mic.
